Are you a teacher looking for some great classroom games?
Are you a youth or children’s group leader looking for fun games that children of all ages love to play?
Are you running a summer camp, youth retreat, or weekend getaway for your social group and looking for Icebreakers and other fun activities for your group?
Then your search is over!
Let’s be perfectly clear about this; games are serious business. Games are not add-ons, fill-ins or time wasters. Games should be an essential part of any educational program. Every good teacher, in any context, needs a repertoire of games to achieve specific educational, developmental and social needs for their students. For a more in-depth look at some of the many reasons why games are so important, click on this link.
How do I know games are so important?
Does 30+ years of teaching give me the credentials to say so? Does the fact that during those 30+ years I used classroom games to teach, motivate, train, and inspire students of all ages (including adults) from many socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, add weight to this? For more information on who I am, what my experience has been, what previous employers and supervisors have had to say about me and why I am passionate about games, click here.
What you will find in this website is the result of many, many hours of time finding, organising, categorising and indexing a multitude of the very best classroom and other group games played by people all over the world.
I used the prototype of “The GamesBox” which is the source of the  material on this website almost every teaching day for 3 years and can assure you I have never found anything that compares in the user-friendliness of the format. You will benefit from the care taken in selecting the best of what was on offer.
  • You will benefit from hours of painstaking work clarifying and simplifying instructions so that ‘the how to’ of playing a game is made so, so easy.
  • You will know at a glance what is needed to play each of the games. You will know in a few seconds whether the game will be suitable for the context you want to use it in.
  • You will expand your list of favourites, if you already have one.
  • Your mind will be opened to the many possibilities of using classroom games as part of the repertoire of techniques, exercises and activities you already use for educational purposes.
If you’re already convinced about the importance of games please take time to explore what this website has to offer both the novice and the seasoned gamester.
Whether you are a teacher of students of all ages, a drama teacher, language teacher, children’s or youth group leader, acting teacher or theatre director; in fact anybody involved in the training of human beings, I am sure you will find material that you can immediately include in your program with a minimum of fuss and preparation.
If you are a complete novice, take my advice and start on a journey of discovery that will add so much to your ability and reputation as a teacher.
In each section you will find excellent FREE sample games and exercises to try out with your students .
My ultimate aim is to provide a superior product for educators and group leaders of all kinds (click on this link to “The Games Box”) in the meantime you can download the FREE games.
